Job summary

The Building People seeks an experienced Facilities Operations & Management leader in Washington, DC to guide functional operations across multiple sites. The role emphasizes independent judgment, problem solving, and innovative process improvements to maintain critical systems.

Responsibilities include directing maintenance programs, budgeting, risk mitigation, and coordinating with safety personnel while ensuring regulatory compliance and high performance across building services.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressive related experience in Infrastructure Operations and Management.
• A well-rounded background in all building trades.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to coordinate complex maintenance projects.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee O&M support and continuous operation of building systems and infrastructure.
• Provide functional guidance and technical direction to staff.
• Manage industry compliance for MEP, FLS, VTE and OSHA requirements with PMs.
• Lead and supervise engineers and maintenance staff on multiple projects.
• Create and update preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance plans.
