Job summary

Lincoln Elementary School District 156 is seeking a Supervisor of Facilities & Operations to oversee day-to-day district facilities, custodial services, grounds, food service, transportation, and security. You will lead staff, coordinate contractors, and ensure safe, well-maintained operations for students and staff.

The role requires experience in facilities/operations, knowledge of building systems, and strong communication with administrators and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• Experience in facilities, operations, maintenance management, or related field, preferably in a school or public-sector environment.
• Working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and other facility systems.
• Supervisory experience with ability to plan, assign, monitor, and evaluate staff.
• Knowledge of health/life safety requirements and applicable regulations.
• Ability to organize priorities, manage multiple functions, and respond to emergencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with admins, staff, students, families, contractors.
• Experience with purchasing, bidding, recordkeeping, and operational planning with administration.
• Proficiency with computers and systems used for communication, work orders, scheduling, and recordkeeping.
• On-call flexibility and ability to respond to urgent operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides day-to-day leadership and coordination of District facilities and operations, including custodial, maintenance, grounds, food service, transportation, and security.
• Supervises custodial, maintenance, and operations staff; sets schedules; monitors performance; provides training; evaluates staffing.
• Conducts regular inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems to identify maintenance and safety needs.
• Develops and monitors preventive and seasonal maintenance programs with administration.
• Maintains knowledge of building systems to prioritize needs and coordinate repairs with staff or contractors.
• Coordinates contractors, vendors, and service providers; obtains quotes; monitors quality and timeliness.
• Oversees food service and transportation operations and safety issues.
• Coordinates with law enforcement and emergency responders; leads safety committee meetings.
• Prepares budgets, bids, contracts, and related exhibits; reviews health/safety compliance; reports to administration.
• Maintains records related to facilities, equipment, and service agreements; ensures compliance.
