Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group in Michigan seeks a Maintenance Manager to oversee facilities maintenance, schedules, and safety compliance across multiple sites.

You will lead maintenance staff, manage budgets, and coordinate with contractors while ensuring adherence to codes and high-quality service. A strong background in building maintenance, leadership, and problem solving is required.

Qualifications

• State Builder’s License and HVAC certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required (no restrictions).
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of building and facilities maintenance techniques and tools.
• Safety standards and precautions knowledge.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; sound problem solving.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities; train staff on policies and responsibilities.
• Maintain schedules and records; attention to detail; follow client directions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance staff by determining workloads and schedules.
• Evaluates staff and makes hiring or termination recommendations.
• Maintains facilities per local and state building codes.
• Manages budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
• Provides technical knowledge for maintenance projects; prepares estimates.
• Develops and implements policies with President.
• Negotiates sub-contractor contracts and inspects work for safety.
• Ensures preventative maintenance and maintains maintenance records.
• Establishes relationships with staff, vendors, and public.
• Works toward continual improvement of the organization.
