Job summary

MACOM is seeking a Senior/Principal Technician in Durham, NC to maintain and operate facilities infrastructure for a semiconductor fab and offices. The role covers HVAC, boiler, chillers, water systems, waste treatment, and minor trades, with RCA/CAPA to drive improvements.

The candidate will work within EH&S and regulatory guidelines, support safety committees, and ensure reliable facility performance. A 2-year degree or technical certificate is desirable, plus CMMS experience and US-only ITAR

Qualifications

• 10 years' experience in a clean room and commercial office environment.
• 2-year college degree or 2-year technical school certificate desirable.
• Massachusetts Industrial Wastewater Operator certification, Grade “2I” required within 6 months.
• Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. Persons will be considered for this position.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates facilities infrastructure for a 40k sqft fab and offices.
• Maintain offices, grounds, and building systems to high appearance and reliability.
• Operate plant systems including HVAC, boiler, chillers, RO/DI water, cooling, waste treatment.
• Perform minor trades like carpentry or painting for structures and fixtures.
• Conduct RCA and implement CAPA to improve dependability.
• Inspect premises and reference blueprints for repair work.
• Support continuous improvement to optimize performance.
• Use CMMS to schedule repairs and track spare parts inventory.
• Follow EH&S and regulatory requirements for essential services and safety.
• Participate in Safety Committee meetings as required.
• Comply with SOPs and GMPs.
