Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Gaffney, SC is seeking a Facility Engineer to oversee maintenance, reliability, and improvements across five buildings. You will lead engineering initiatives, manage budgets, and coordinate contractors to keep plant operations safe and efficient.

The role requires a mechanical/industrial engineering background, CMMS MaintainX experience, and strong multi-location coordination. Excellent communication and budgeting skills are essential; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Facilities Engineering or 6 years of related experience.
• Minimum 5 years supporting industrial facilities or manufacturing operations.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with CMMS MaintainX and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and utilities.
• Experience coordinating contractors and outside service providers.
• Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Strong project management and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
• Ability to work independently across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility operations across five industrial buildings.
• Drive facility improvement projects from concept to execution.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Monitor spending and ensure safety, time, and budget adherence.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and address facility issues from leadership and teams.
• Support utility systems and building security.
• Maintain security change-management processes per Daimler policy.
• Perform facility assessments for reliability and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and corporate requirements.
