Job summary

ESFM, the corporate facilities management division of Compass Group USA, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead on-site operations, maintain critical infrastructure, and oversee maintenance programs to maximize uptime and safety. You will direct a team of engineers and contractors, manage safety and regulatory compliance, and partner with clients on strategic facility performance.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years in facility engineering or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading engineering teams or site operations.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance, electrical, plumbing.
• Experience in data center or high-reliability environments.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead hard services delivery across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and critical infrastructure systems.
• Direct, manage, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and contractors; ensure coverage and accountability.
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for mechanical systems.
• Ensure 24/7 operation through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Own site KPIs, SLAs, and compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Manage vendor relationships, OEM coordination, and third-party service providers.
• Interface with client stakeholders and support operational reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement for uptime, efficiency, sustainability, and resilience.
