Position Overview :
We are seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer - Sterilization to support the analysis, design, implementation, and engineering of facility infrastructure associated with multi-year sterilization projects at a medical device manufacturing facility.
The selected candidate will serve as an Owner's Representative Engineer, providing technical expertise and project support across a variety of facility systems, including HVAC, exhaust, chillers, boilers, dry compressed air, electrical infrastructure, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and oversee the reconfiguration, maintenance, modification, and installation of facility equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and infrastructure.
- Collect and evaluate facility and equipment specifications, regulatory requirements, project constraints, completion schedules, and construction feasibility.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering firms to establish design criteria and develop layouts, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Prepare bid packages, bid sheets, scopes of work, and contracts related to construction and facility projects.
- Develop and review project cost estimates, including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and other associated expenses.
- Monitor construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements.
- Support facility commissioning activities and verify that systems are installed and operating according to established requirements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, engineering firms, contractors, suppliers, and other project partners to resolve technical and project-related issues.
- Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through construction, commissioning, and implementation.
Required Qualifications :
Must Have :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience in:
- Facility Mechanical Infrastructure
- Electrical Infrastructure
- Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Master's degree with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Nice to Have :
- Strong knowledge of facility mechanical systems, including:
- HVAC
- Electrical systems
- Building Automation Systems
- Plumbing systems
- Chillers and boilers
- Dry compressed air systems
- Experience supporting the design and construction of cleanrooms, chiller plants, and compressed air plants.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Experience with integrated building solutions, including:
- Temperature control
- Critical environment monitoring
- Power management and alarming
- Zoned lighting controls
- Facility access control
- Hands-on experience with Tridium/Niagara or Siemens BAS.
- Experience with facility commissioning.
- Experience working within medical device manufacturing, cleanroom, or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
