Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification of successful completion in a structured electrical apprenticeship program.
• Chicago electrical contractor license or equivalent municipal license required.
• Five or more years of experience in the electrical trade, preferably with construction/repair and lighting focus.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, tools, and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical and electrical/mechanical systems in City facilities.
• Maintain interior/exterior lighting and check generators and UPS systems.
• Modify systems and cable for computers or telecom equipment.
• Estimate material and labor costs; update blueprints as changes occur.
• Winterize and maintain exterior facilities; assist with snow operations.
• Operate City vehicle and equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with architects/engineers to determine design requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
