Job summary

Guilford County is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee capital improvement projects across county facilities. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, develop scopes, schedules and budgets, and ensure quality from planning through turnover.

The role involves coordinating architects, engineers and contractors, conducting feasibility studies, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or similar field with four years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• Two-year degree in engineering, architecture or construction management with six years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• High school diploma or GED with eight years of progressively responsible project management experience.
• Ability to assemble, engage, and lead cross-functional teams and manage scope, time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full range of the project management cycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing.
• Direct development of action plans and estimate resources (management, labor, materials, time).
• Manage projects up to $5 million; participate in larger projects with teams.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors and construction representatives.
• Ensure safety policies and compliance with county standards; review submittals and pay applications.
