Job summary

Ford is seeking a Senior Fabricator to join the Product Creation and Industrialization team in a hybrid role in the United States. You will fabricate, assemble and weld metal components and vehicle structures, interpreting designs and operating a wide range of shop equipment.

You will mentor junior fabricators and help improve fabrication processes while meeting quality standards and deadlines. You will work with steel, aluminum and stainless steel, using MIG and TIG welding, 2D/3D CAD, and CNC

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of MIG welding experience on steel.
• 5-7+ years of TIG welding experience on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
• Experienced with 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Experience operating fabrication-related CNC equipment (e.g., waterjet, laser cutter, press brake).
• Proficient layout and measurement skills utilizing calipers, tape measures, protractors, and fixturing tools.
• Comfortable handling materials such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, carbon fiber, fiberglass, foams, and plastics.
• High attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as individually.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and build to blueprints, 3D CAD models, and engineering drawings.
• Perform MIG welding on steel and TIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel to fabricate components.
• Utilize handheld power tools for material prep, trimming, and finishing.
• Operate shop equipment including waterjet, CNC press brake, manual mill, lathe, bandsaw, grinders, shear and press.
• Prep materials and fabricate components from various metals and composites.
• Communicate project status and maintain safety and quality standards.
