Job summary

Avantor is seeking a skilled Fabrication Mechanic to fabricate and modify fixtures, machinery, and fittings. You will lay out, cut, fit, measure, and weld various metals following drawings and SOPs

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 5+ years of relevant experience, and welding certifications (GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW) are a plus. Strong layout, machining, pipefitting and reading engineering drawings are important for success at Avantor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Welding certifications are a plus; welding processes include GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW.
• Experience with sheet metal work, pipefitting and plumbing.
• Machining experience (mill, lathe) and reading engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate/modify complex fixtures, machinery and fittings.
• Lay out, cut, fit, measure and weld metals and other materials.
• Follow welding standards and SOPs on projects.
• Work from drawings, blueprints and instructions for installation, repair and maintenance.
