Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division seeks a Senior Fabrication Technician I for the Orchard Park, NY facility. The role focuses on manufacturing weldments, aneroid production, and mechanical soldering of components for aerospace products in Space, Life Support and Actuation programs.

You will maintain safety, quality, and a clean working environment. The position requires setting up and evaluating welding systems, performing complex fabrication, and mentoring teammates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• 4 years of relevant fabrication (weld, solder, braze)/ manufacturing experience OR 6 years combined fabrication (weld, solder, braze)/manufacturing & Military experience.
• Proficient using metal joining process (solder, GTAW, braze), various hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Live within 50 miles of location.
• ITAR compliance: U.S. person required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
• Identify improvement opportunities for Environmental, Health, and Safety.
• Assist certified trainers with basic training of technicians up to and including current grade.
• Possesses knowledge/experience with fabrication processes (weld/solder/braze).
• Setup and evaluate complex welding systems; use of specialized tools, taps, thread gauges, and measuring equipment.
• Perform complex fabrication operations including both manual or automated systems.
• Share knowledge and guide technicians of lower and current level.
• Complete moderate to high complexity fabrication operations following written instructions.
• Perform product testing with test equipment, high pressure burst testing, and maintain weldment cleaning equipment.
• Document test results on data sheets and/or in data collection system.
• Complete certification for fabrication inspection processes including braze, solder, and weld.
• Use complex measurement equipment for aneroid production.
• Follow non-conforming material processes and report findings.
