Job summary

VEKA Group in Reno, NV seeks an extrusion operator/technician to oversee the production floor, troubleshoot the extrusion process and guide staff to meet quality standards.

You will work with the Superintendent to maintain staffing, ensure safe operations, coordinate with Quality Assurance, and handle routine admin tasks while supporting overall production goals.

This is a hands-on, unionized manufacturing environment offering steady hours and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• GED or high school education required.
• Five years extrusion experience or manufacturing experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of extrusion processes and related machining.
• Strong problem solving, planning, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe operation of the entire production floor with the Superintendent.
• Maintain staffing levels to meet the production schedule.
• Provide supervision and direction to all extrusion machine staff.
• Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues and report to maintenance.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained.
• Coordinate with the Production and Plant Management teams on material availability for extrusion.
• Fill in for Supervisors or Extrusion Technicians during vacations or absences.
• All other duties as assigned.
