Job summary

Milacron is seeking an Extrusion Process Technician in Batavia, OH. You will plan and run extrusion trials, diagnose processing issues, and apply technical findings to improve equipment and processes.

The role requires extensive hands-on extrusion experience, familiarity with screw designs, and strong technical writing and communication skills, along with travel readiness for on-site and customer environments.

Qualifications

• Must have 10+ years of extrusion experience, including substantial hands-on process work.
• Experience with single-screw and counter-rotating twin-screw extrusion.
• Practical knowledge of polymer rheology, melting mechanisms, and thermal history.
• Ability to plan technical trials, analyze data, normalize results, and document findings.
• Familiarity with screw design drawings and collaboration with screw design teams.
• Strong technical writing and customer-facing communication skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 50%, including international travel and off-shift trials/startups.
• Ability to work safely in lab and manufacturing environments and meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, analyze, and document extrusion trials in laboratory and customer environments.
• Diagnose extrusion processing issues and recommend solutions related to equipment, tooling, materials, and process conditions.
• Provide processing input for screw, barrel, tooling, machine, and control system improvements.
• Prepare technical reports, support customer training, and share knowledge with Sales, Engineering, and Field Service.
