Job summary

Amphenol Corporation's Amphenol High Speed Products Group in Hamden, CT seeks a Senior Process Engineer - Extrusion Technologies to develop, optimize, and sustain extrusion processes across multiple product lines. This hands-on leadership role will drive strategic projects, support new line startups, and expand global manufacturing capabilities.

You will partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering and suppliers to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and mentor teams while traveling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Plastics, Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years in high-speed or automated manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical and capital projects.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data-driven problem solving.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a site-wide technical leader for extrusion processes.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and guide cross-functional teams.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Establish robust process windows and manufacturing best practices.
• Lead installation, FAT/SAT, and ramp-up of new extrusion lines.
• Support global manufacturing startups and travel as required.
• Develop work instructions, process docs, and training materials.
• Mentor engineers and technicians to strengthen capability.
• Lead cross-functional projects focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
