Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of public accounting or equivalent utility accounting experience.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to manage a variety of projects and timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders and navigate complex organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of 10-Q and 10-K workpapers.
• Lead preparation of financial statements for other reporting projects (e.g., FERC, CPUC, benefit plan, NDT).
• Communicates with internal partners to gather information and ensure consistency of information reported externally.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with key business partners to gather information for disclosures.
• Identifies and leads implementation of process improvements to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
• Assists analysts and senior analysts in identifying areas for process improvement.
• Leads resolution of complex accounting/disclosure issues and provides guidance to analysts.
• Identifies and evaluates accounting issues including documentation and proposed solutions.
• Educates the business on accounting topics and communicates issues to management.
• May manage cross-functional initiatives and act as team lead when needed.
