TikTok is seeking a Senior Technical Compliance Manager in New York to join our Global Legal Compliance team. This on‑site role will be the technical engine of export control efforts, handling day‑to‑day product counseling, ECCN classification, and licensing analyses across TikTok’s products, technologies, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has strong regulatory knowledge, deep technical fluency, and experience guiding cross‑functional teams through complex classification and licensing

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in export control, classification, licensing, or related compliance work.
• Experience evaluating classification and licensing for tech hardware, software, cloud, or data center products.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. export control laws and regulations (EAR/BIS).
• Familiarity with FDPR, de minimis, AI export controls, and cross‑border infra deployments.

Responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day export control compliance for TikTok’s products and infrastructure, focusing on technical product counseling, ECCN classification, and licensing analysis.
• Perform end‑to‑end classification assessments for hardware, software, and related items, incl. AI and advanced computing technologies.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, infrastructure, procurement, and business teams to address export control implications for new products and features.
• Monitor BIS/regulatory developments and translate changes into internal guidance and workflows.
