Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a qualified professional to rotate between Brigham and Women's Main Campus and Foxborough Campus for stress testing. You will develop exercise prescriptions and oversee progression in patients with chronic diseases, leading staff and ensuring high-quality care.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology, with 2–3 years in an acute care setting preferred; master’s degree preferred for Exercise Physiology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology required; Master's preferred.
  • 2–3 years experience in acute care hospital or cardiac rehab preferred.
  • No experience may not substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Perform stress tests and oversee exercise progression.
  • Develop exercise prescriptions for patients with chronic diseases.
  • Train staff and assign daily schedules as needed.
  • Explain programs to participants and monitor responses.
  • Document thoroughly in patient charts for provider review.
  • Follow hospital policies and procedures.

Job Summary

This position will rotate between Brigham and Women's Main Campus and Brigham and Women's Foxborough Campus for stress testing.

Develops exercise prescription and oversees exercise progression in patients with chronic diseases. Leads team members by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job responsibilities.

Essential Functions
  • Assessments - Executive Physicals and Health Fit Assessments
  • Conduct stress tests, using electrocardiograph (EKG) machines.
  • Trains new staff members and assigns daily schedules as needed
  • Recommend methods to increase lifestyle physical activity.
  • Explain exercise program or physiological testing procedures to participants.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Advises patients about nutrition and ongoing exercise regimens may teach classes and conduct research.
  • Thoroughly and legibly documents in chart to be reviewed by provider
  • Follows hospital and department procedures and policies.

  • Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology required or Bachelor's Degree Kinesiology required or Master's Degree Exercise Physiology preferred

  • Skillfully utilize and maintain specialized equipment, devices and computer program.

  • Knowledge of acceptable ranges of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and EKG and reports any abnormal values to RN.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently with only general supervision.
