Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to develop exercise prescriptions and oversee progression in patients with chronic diseases. The role rotates between Brigham and Women's Main Campus and Foxborough Campus for stress testing.

You will lead a team, mentor staff, perform stress tests with ECG, explain procedures, monitor patient conditions, and document findings in charting systems, while adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology required or Master’s in Exercise Physiology preferred.
  • 2–3 years experience in acute hospital or cardiac rehab preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assessments - Executive Physicals and Health Fit Assessments.
  • Conduct stress tests using EKG machines.
  • Train new staff and assign daily schedules as needed.
  • Explain exercise programs or testing procedures to participants.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Advise patients about nutrition and ongoing exercise regimens; may teach classes and conduct research.
  • Document thoroughly in the chart for provider review.
  • Follow hospital and department procedures and policies.

Job Summary

This position will rotate between Brigham and Women's Main Campus and Brigham and Women's Foxborough Campus for stress testing.

Develops exercise prescription and oversees exercise progression in patients with chronic diseases. Leads team members by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • Thoroughly and legibly documents in chart to be reviewed by provider
  • Follows hospital and department procedures and policies.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology required or Bachelor's Degree Kinesiology required or Master's Degree Exercise Physiology preferred

  • Experience working in an acute care hospital/cardiac rehabilitation program 2-3 years preferred

  • Knowledge of acceptable ranges of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and EKG and reports any abnormal values to RN.
