Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a Stress Testing Exercise Physiologist to rotate between Brigham and Women's Main Campus and Foxborough Campus for stress testing. Develops exercise prescriptions and oversees progression for patients with chronic diseases, while leading team members with advanced knowledge of responsibilities.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology (Master's preferred) and 2–3 years of acute care/cardiac rehab experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology required; Master's in Exercise Physiology preferred.
  • 2-3 years of acute care hospital/cardiac rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assessments – Executive Physicals and Health Fit Assessments.
  • Conduct stress tests using electrocardiograph (EKG) machines.
  • Trains new staff and assigns daily schedules.
  • Explain exercise programs and testing procedures to participants.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Advise patients about nutrition and ongoing exercise regimens; may teach classes and conduct research.
  • Document thoroughly in the chart for provider review.
  • Follow hospital and department procedures and policies.

This position will rotate between Brigham and Women's Main Campus and Brigham and Women's Foxborough Campus for stress testing.

Essential Functions

  • Explain exercise program or physiological testing procedures to participants.

  • Advises patients about nutrition and ongoing exercise regimens may teach classes and conduct research.
  • Thoroughly and legibly documents in chart to be reviewed by provider
  • Follows hospital and department procedures and policies.

  • Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology required or Bachelor's Degree Kinesiology required or Master's Degree Exercise Physiology preferred

  • Knowledge of acceptable ranges of blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation and EKG and reports any abnormal values to RN.
