Senior Executive Superintendent (Traveling)

Job summary

CMC Design Build, Inc. is seeking an Executive Superintendent to lead construction-site management, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel across US projects.

You will enforce safety standards, manage schedules, and maintain rigorous project documentation using Procore. Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in construction management, proven experience with ground-up and tenant improvements, and certifications in OSHA, First Aid/CPR, and NFPA.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in construction management for building construction.
• Ground-up and tenant improvement project experience required.
• Experience with cold storage insulated metal building envelopes is required.
• Experience with industrial refrigeration systems is required.
• Proven record of successful execution of $20M-70M+ projects.
• 30 hour OSHA certification required.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• NFPA certification required.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Mastery in reading and understanding plans, specs, safety rules, and maintenance manuals.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
• Familiarity with Lean practices and BIM models is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the management of the overall construction site, including subcontractors and suppliers.
• Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
• Be an advocate for CMC standard operating procedures and enforce on the project.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and OSHA compliant work site.
• Create and manage project schedule with project manager; create 6 week look ahead schedules.
• Maintain Procore records, daily log, and photo logs of project activities.
• Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
• Communicate with project team regarding bulletins, RFIs and submittals.
• Ensure subcontractor is fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work.
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions; assist in securing permits from local AHJ.
• Walk entire jobsite multiple times per day to monitor activities and plan future work.
• Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate the work.
• Provide project coverage as needed to meet schedule.
• Perform progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
• Mentor and coach design/build team.
• Manage facility start up and 3rd party testing/inspection.
• Projects are throughout the U.S.; extended travel is required.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

Qualifications:

• Construction Management or Engineering Degree preferred but not required with significant career experience.

• 15+ years of experience in construction management for building construction
• Ground-up project experience and tenant improvement project experience is required.
• Experience with cold storage insulated metal building envelopes is required.
• Experience with industrial refrigeration systems is required.
• Proven record of successful execution of $20M- 70M+ projects
• 30 hour OSHA certification will be required.
• First Aid/AED/CPR certification will be required.
• NFPA certification will be required.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Mastery in reading and understanding plans, specs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and team members from all levels of the organization
• Reliable, attentive, and eager to learn more about the construction industry
• Familiarity with computers and internet usage. Including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and Procore
• Ability to travel and be away from home for up to 12 days at time is a requirement.
• Familiarity with Lean practices is beneficial but not required.
• Familiarity with BIM models and clash detection is beneficial but not required.
