Job summary

CMC Design Build is seeking an Executive Superintendent with extensive experience managing ground-up and tenant-improvement construction projects nationwide. The role requires oversight of site operations, schedule coordination, safety compliance, and proactive leadership across subcontractors and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will have 15+ years in construction management, strong technical knowledge of cold storage envelopes and industrial refrigeration, and proficiency with MS Office, MS

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.
• 15+ years of construction management experience on building projects.
• Ground-up and tenant improvement project experience required.
• Experience with cold storage insulated metal building envelopes is required.
• Experience with industrial refrigeration systems is required.
• Track record of delivering $20M–$70M+ projects.
• OSHA-30, First Aid/CPR/AED, and NFPA certifications are required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail.
• Excellent reading of plans, specs, safety rules, and manuals.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and Procore.
• Willingness to travel up to 12 days at a time.
• Lean practices and BIM model familiarity are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of the entire construction site, coordinating subs, vendors, and suppliers.
• Schedule subcontractors and consultants in the critical path to ensure timely completion.
• Uphold SOPs and enforce on the project; maintain a safe, OSHA-compliant site.
• Create and manage project schedules with the PM, including 6-week look-ahead plans.
• Maintain Procore records, daily logs, and photo logs; ensure quality control.
• Communicate with the project team on bulletins, RFIs, and submittals.
• Ensure subcontractors fully execute contracted scope; coordinate inspections.
• Travel to various sites nationwide; support future planning and meetings.
• Mentor and coach the design/build team; support project startup and third-party testing.
• Lead weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate work.
