The Senior Executive Producer, Reporter Video will help grow and guide a team that produces videos that feature New York Times reporting — and often — reporters. We’re looking for someone who can build and nurture teams, identify compelling stories and steer editorial details under tight deadlines. You will co-lead the Reporter Video unit with another Senior Executive Producer who will provide visual oversight and guide the unit’s video style and storytelling. Together you will establish strategic goals and coverage targets. You’ll craft editorial workflows, lead team meetings, set production schedules, and assign and oversee individual stories.
Your role requires experience covering both breaking news and enterprise, including features and investigative projects. You have solid news judgment and an understanding of relevant journalistic standards. You should guide news coverage by being an opportunistic story selector who reads news reporting widely as you look for promising targets. You should build good relationships with many newsroom desks. You will work collaboratively and maintain cohesion on teams with players who don’t work for you. You are a partner who can co-lead a team.
