Job summary

Apex Plumbing Pros is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our excavation team. This role operates backhoes and mini excavators on residential and commercial sewer and water line projects, delivering safe, high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and collaborative, with experience in trenchless installations, OSHA regulations, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Full-time onsite role.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy equipment experience in construction or utilities.
• Comfortable operating an E-35 Excavator.
• Experience with trenchless water/sewer/gas line installation and repair.
• Experience with residential and commercial excavation projects.
• Ability to safely load, unload and transport heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of excavation safety practices and OSHA regulations.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment on job sites.
• Perform excavation work for sewer and water service repairs and replacements.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Collaborate with excavation crews to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, transport, and secure equipment per guidelines.
• Inspect, maintain, and service excavation equipment.
• Work safely in confined spaces and open trenches.
• Communicate professionally with customers on job sites.
• Complete projects within established timelines while maintaining quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment.
