Job summary

David H. Martin Excavating Inc. is seeking an Experienced Pipe Crew Main Line Excavator Operator to operate a range of heavy equipment and support water, sewer, and storm utility projects.

You will clear and grade land, set pipe, boxes, structures and manholes, perform inspections, and maintain a safety-minded work environment. Requires at least two years of excavator experience on a pipe crew and a valid driver’s license. Pre-employment drug screening is required.

• Strong experience with deep trenching and underground utility construction.

Experienced Pipe Crew Main Line Excavator Operator

DHM’s Heavy Equipment Operators operate a variety of construction/excavation equipment including, but not limited to, backhoes, front end loaders, skid steer loaders, track hoes, drills, graders, dozers, and heavy trucks that are used daily in construction/excavation. The Operator is responsible for working with power construction equipment to move materials, earth, and heavy objects at our construction sites. The Operator clears and grades land to prepare it for utilities, asphalt, concrete, buildings, bridges, roads, etc. This is considered a Safety Sensitive position.

Duties Include:

• Operate excavators for water, sewer, and storm utility trenching projects
• Dig safely and accurately around crew members, existing utilities, and job site obstacles
• Grade trench bottoms to proper depth, slope, and line
• Assist with setting pipe, boxes, structures, and manholes as needed
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
• Support a productive, safety-focused work environment
• Hands-on involvement in critical water, sewer, and storm utility infrastructure projects
