Job summary

Apex Plumbing Pros is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our excavation team. This role operates backhoes and mini excavators on residential and commercial sewer and water line projects, delivering safe, high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and collaborative, with experience in trenchless installations, OSHA regulations, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Full-time onsite role.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy equipment experience in construction or utilities.
• Comfortable operating an E-35 Excavator.
• Experience with trenchless water/sewer/gas line installation and repair.
• Experience with residential and commercial excavation projects.
• Ability to safely load, unload and transport heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of excavation safety practices and OSHA regulations.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform excavation work for sewer and water service repairs and replacements.
• Follow all OSHA regulations and Apex Plumbing Pros safety policies and procedures.

• Load, unload, transport, and properly secure equipment on trailers according to company guidelines.
• Inspect, maintain, and perform routine care of excavation equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and open excavations.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
