Job summary

Builders FirstSource, Inc. is seeking a design-team supervisor to oversee EWP design work, ensuring accurate layouts, cost efficiency, and on-schedule completion.

You will coordinate workloads, review designs, and support sales initiatives while driving inventory and production optimization across sites. The role requires supervisory experience, strong EWP design software skills, and knowledge of engineered wood products and building systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Design Technology, or equivalent.
• Two or more years of EWP design experience.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in EWP design software.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the work of employees using EWP design software for engineering, layout, and design functions for floors.
• Supervises daily workflow to ensure timely, accurate project completion.
• Reviews orders and project specs, estimates timelines, and assigns work to designers.
• Approves and verifies EWP layouts, calculations, drawings, and material takeoffs.
• Establishes pricing recommendations and supports sales teams.
• Assists designers and sales in meeting customer requirements for integrity, constructability, and efficiency.
• Records design errors, conducts training, and implements corrective actions.
• Coordinates workload balancing with other designers and locations when needed.
• Communicates with contractors, architects, engineers, and sales reps for timely project completion.
• Administers new employee training and ongoing development for EWP products and procedures.
