Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer in Austin, TX to architect and implement complete wiring systems for Large Platform vessel programs. You will select wiring, connectors, shielding, and define pin-outs for harsh marine environments.

Experience across two aerospace programs and a disciplined, regulated process culture are essential. Expect collaboration across engineering, program, and manufacturing teams in a fast-moving startup-like environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
7–10 years of relevant experience in Austin, TX.
Genuine aerospace EWIS architecture experience spanning two programs.
Ability to independently architect and implement wiring systems including pin-outs and shielding strategy.
Hands-on ECAD/PLM/MCAD tool experience with typical aerospace software.

Responsibilities

Architect and independently implement complete wiring systems for Large Platform vessel programs.
Select wires, connectors, and shielding strategies; define pin-outs for harsh marine environments.
Own electrical and physical/mechanical design inputs for wire harness systems.
Produce and interpret complex technical documents with strong config control.
Communicate design decisions across engineering, program, and manufacturing stakeholders.
Apply aerospace-grade process rigor to the engineering environment.
Work across diverse and varied product challenges rather than a single platform.
