Job summary

melin is seeking an Events Manager to own end-to-end event planning and execution across wholesale, retail, community programming, and mCEL activations. You will build annual calendars, manage briefs, budgets, and post-event analysis, and ensure premium brand representation at every touchpoint.

This hybrid, in-office role in San Clemente, CA requires 5+ years of experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to drive events with a hands-on, “A player” approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience planning and executing events for a consumer brand, retailer, or experiential agency.
• Minimum 30% travel required.
• Proven ability to manage event logistics end-to-end, including setup, tear-down, and operation of large vehicles (mCEL).
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a company-provided melin truck to tow a 30' mCEL trailer; experience towing large trailers preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills with experience managing contracts, pricing, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own event briefs, pitches, budgets, and post-event recap decks with clear outcomes and learnings.
• Define event objectives and KPIs that align with brand and commercial goals.
• Manage all permitting, COI requirements, and compliance documentation required to legally execute events.
• Own the full mCEL program including calendar management, logistics, driving coordination, inventory, and briefs.
• Recruit, schedule, and manage staff to ensure a premium customer experience at every activation.
• Support nucleus events, trunk shows, and in-store experiences in collaboration with wholesale and retail teams.
• Support Community Manager on event-based programming and local partnerships.
• Lead negotiations for event footprints, manage vendor contracts and invoicing, and track budgets.
