Title: Senior Event ManagerLocation: San Francisco, CA 94158 (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)Duration: 9+ monthsJob Description:Client is seeking a Senior Event Manager to support select Client internal events, including employee engagement events and internal conferences. Reporting to the Director of Internal Events, this role requires an organized individual that is comfortable acting as a project manager for event and operational workstreams such as registration, vendor management and overall event execution.
Responsibilities include:- Acting as the event or workstream lead for assigned projects. Overseeing project meetings and communicating clear agendas and follow-up actions with project team and key stakeholders
- Developing event project plans including strategy, goals, metrics, timeline and roles and responsibilities
- Invoice and budget tracking. Escalating unforeseen changes to necessary stakeholders.
- Event design and audience experience development, working with stakeholders to determine needs and desired outcomes for event audience
- Hotel room block and venue management
- Attendee communications, registration management and mailbox management
- Mobile app development
- Onsite delivery and execution
- Post event reconciliation, surveys and reporting
Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: 6+ years of experience in event program management and operations
Successful Candidate Qualities:- Demonstrated exceptional project management, organization and planning skills applied in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
- Must possess a passion for events and in-depth understanding of how events engagement bolsters brand
- Creative approach to development of event concepts – think outside the box – with a desire to constantly innovate and improve all event aspects
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills, particularly with senior executive level stakeholders
- Proactively bring forward new ideas and look for innovative solutions that help simplify processes
- Self-directed personality that takes a proactive, hands-on role in problem solving, decision-making, creating new procedures and innovating new ways to enhance existing processes
- Strong customer orientation. Look to deliver impactful and beneficial meetings for clients and attendees with a focus on quality
- Driven, self-starter with an ability to prioritize projects in a deadline driven environment
- Must be able to facilitate domestic and international meeting programs, as required. Job requires 15 percent overnight travel
