Job summary

Coulomb Solutions Inc. (CSI) in Livermore, CA is seeking a Senior Software and Controls Engineer to drive software architecture and integration of CSI electrification products across EV platforms.

You will work with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to design, modify, validate, and calibrate software and hardware for battery systems and EV components, with emphasis on CAN, Simulink, and embedded code.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE/ME or related field; master’s preferred.
• 5–10 years in control algorithms and EV/HEV integration.
• Strong troubleshooting for electrical and software issues.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink and CAN interfaces.
• Proficient in CANAlyzer, CANApe, J1939; LIN/KWP-2000/UDS knowledge.
• Knowledge of SAE J1772, ASIL levels and ISO26262.

Responsibilities

• Develop controls software algorithms and CAN interface specs for HV battery systems.
• Integrate electrification components into customer applications and resolve interface issues.
• Support system commissioning with CAN software tools and parameter tuning.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing to gather usage data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware issues in installed systems.
• Analyze trends and participate in seminars to promote products.
