Job summary

ROUSH in Livonia, MI seeks a Senior Electrified Powertrain Calibration Engineer to develop electrified powertrains from concept through prototype to production. You will mentor teammates, lead calibration efforts for BEV/FCEV/HEV programs, and work with bench, dynamometer and vehicle-based testing.

The role requires a BS in a related field and 4+ years of hands-on powertrain calibration experience, including high voltage systems, MATLAB/Simulink, and ETAS INCA/ATI Vision familiarity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical, automotive, electrical engineering or similar field.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant powertrain engineering experience including hands-on hybrid and/or electric vehicle calibration and development experience.
  • Vehicle and dynamometer-based calibration development experience.
  • ETAS INCA or ATI Vision calibration tools experience (or equivalent).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting controls algorithms in MATLAB, Simulink, or C-based software documentation.
  • Experience with high voltage automotive electrical systems.
  • CAN network testing and simulation ability.
  • Proficient in reading wiring schematics.
  • Proficiency using multimeter and hand tools to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills, a self-starter, and the ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and/or lead development and validation of electrified powertrain controls for BEV, FCEV, and HEV.
  • Participate in creation of requirements for controller software to meet project goals.
  • Carry out bench, dynamometer, and vehicle-based electrified powertrain development.
  • Analyze data and present findings to team members.
  • Perform validation and release of controls software into production.
  • Conduct hot/cold/high-altitude development testing to meet objectives.
  • Calibrate powertrain function including diagnostics, safety, and thermal systems.
  • Provide technical contributions in a project team environment.
  • Support dyno/vehicle-based research projects.
  • Modify calibration to collect experimental data.
  • Work hands-on with electrical systems and components.
