Job summary

GTS Technology Solutions, located in Denton, TX, is seeking a Senior ETL & Data Integration Engineer for a contract-to-hire engagement. You will design, build, and support enterprise data platforms powering institutional reporting and analytics.

This on-site role requires 8+ years in data engineering, strong Oracle/SQL skills, and the ability to architect scalable data solutions; two mandatory onsite interviews in Denton, with potential for future onsite flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, enterprise data warehousing, or ETL development.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database/PL-SQL or SQL Server/T-SQL.
• Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), SnapLogic, or SSIS (OIC/SSIS ideal).
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouses or cloud-based analytics platforms.
• Ability to architect a data solution and explain design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise data warehouses, data stores, and data lake solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines using Oracle Cloud and SQL Server tools.
• Integrate enterprise systems (ERP, HCM, SIS, CRM) via REST/SOAP APIs, SFTP, and event-driven patterns.
• Support BI and analytics by developing curated datasets and semantic models.
• Optimize database performance, partitioning, and query tuning for large datasets.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and analysts.

Job Title: Senior ETL & Data Integration Engineer

Engagement Type: Contract to Hire; conversion based on performance, client need, and mutual fit

Pay Rate: $48 to $58/hr W2, depending on experience

Conversion Salary Range: $80K to $110K, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Location: Denton, TX 76204 (must be within 40-mile commute radius)

Onsite 5 days per week for the contract period, with 3 days onsite a possibility later.

Interview Rounds: Two mandatory onsite interviews in Denton, TX

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, ongoing basis without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

Background: Must pass a satisfactory standard criminal background check upon hire.

About the Role

GTS Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior ETL & Data Integration Engineer to design, build, and support enterprise data platforms that power institutional reporting and analytics.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who wants to lead the technical design of what they build, working across enrollment, student records, finance, HR, and institutional research data.

What You'll Do

• Design and maintain enterprise data warehouses, operational data stores, and data lake solutions across cloud and on-prem environments
• Build ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable integration components using Oracle Cloud and SQL Server tools
• Integrate enterprise systems (ERP, HCM, SIS, CRM) using REST/SOAP APIs, SFTP, and event-driven patterns
• Support BI and analytics initiatives, developing curated datasets and semantic models
• Optimize database performance, partitioning, and query tuning for large-scale datasets
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and analysts

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (equivalent experience considered)
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, enterprise data warehousing, or ETL development
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database/PL-SQL or SQL Server/T-SQL
• Experience with at least one of: Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), SnapLogic, or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) — OIC and SSIS experience is ideal
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouses, operational data stores, or cloud-based analytics platforms
• Ability to independently architect a data solution and explain the reasoning behind design decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI or Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)
• Experience with Ellucian Colleague, Banner, or similar higher-ed SIS platforms (nice-to-have, not required)
• Higher education, healthcare, or other regulated public-sector data experience
• Familiarity with FERPA, HIPAA, or Texas Administrative Code (TAC 202) data standards
