Job summary

Cisco's Data Center Business Unit is seeking engineers to contribute to the Nexus data center switch family, developing software for next-generation Ethernet switching technology and cloud infrastructure integrations.

You'll learn core Ethernet technologies, participate across the software lifecycle, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality changes and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 8+ years experience or higher.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Embedded/router/switch software development experience.
• Strong debugging with GDB and network tech.
• Experience with L2/L3/ACL/QOS packet forwarding.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a project team developing software for the Nexus data center switch family.
• Define, architect, design, and deliver new features on Nexus platform.
• Mentor peers and lead small-to-medium features from design to completion.
• Write functional clean code and unit tests with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and support on-call rotations.
