Job summary

Blue Origin, a leader in space exploration, seeks an experienced cost estimator to support pricing and cost-volume development across diverse spaceflight programs. You will drive proposal pricing activities and detailed estimates for propulsion, launch services, and in-space applications, ensuring compliant, compelling cost proposals.

The role requires 10+ years of experience, a Bachelor's degree, and deep knowledge of FAR/DFARS/NFS regulations, with strong analytical and communication abilities

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand RFP/SOW documents.
• Advanced expertise in cost estimating, proformas, and business models.
• Desire to lead process improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, collaborate, develop, review, and present cost estimates in compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Support proposal activities for Blue Origin's commercial and government customers.
• Develop cost estimates for Internal Research & Development (IR&D) efforts.
• Prepare cost estimates across all Blue Origin product lines (liquid rocket propulsion, suborbital and orbital launch services).
• Write Basis of Estimate (BOE) narratives to document estimating approaches.
• Collaborate as part of a team of cost professionals to deliver high-quality estimates.
