Job summary

Pulice in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare project estimates by analyzing specifications and contract plans to ensure cost-effective quantities and methods align with pursuit, schedule and price goals. You will review drawings, historical data, perform takeoffs, assess risks, and collaborate with the estimating team to hand off projects to management. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in construction estimating are preferred, with advanced HCSS Heavy Bid skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in construction estimating or cost control.
• Specialized knowledge in alternative construction delivery methods.
• Advanced knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.
• Strong technical writing skills and ability to lead pursuit activities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
• Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports into unit and person-hour figures.
• Provides technical input regarding project and contract risks to lead estimator responsible for final bid price approval.
• Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and material quantities.
• Monitors client addendum and advises the estimating team on changes during the estimate period.
• Assists with design review options and recommends best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or material availability.
• Partners with estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit team and project management team.
• Researches and recommends vendors and subcontractors to achieve pursuit and cost goals.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.


• Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and person-hour figures.

Who You Are

• Strong technical writing skills.


• Able to lead pursuit and estimating activities on a large or complex pursuit project.
