Job summary

Metric Geo, a Los Angeles-based general contractor, is seeking a Wet Utility Estimator to support a strong backlog of municipal and public works projects across Southern California. This role emphasizes underground utilities, accurate heavy civil cost estimating, and competitive bid preparation for complex infrastructure.

You will perform quantity takeoffs from plans, analyze labor, equipment and material costs, solicit subcontractor quotes, and contribute to bid strategy and value engineering.

Qualifications

• 3–10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience bidding municipal/public works projects in Southern California.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and bid documents.
• Proficiency with HeavyBid, Bid2Win, or similar estimating software.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for Heavy Civil.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications.
• Analyze labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Support bid strategy, value engineering, and risk analysis.
• Work closely with operations, project management, and leadership teams.
• Assist with bid submissions, pricing reviews, and handoff to operations.
