Job summary

MTA Construction & Development is seeking an Estimator Level 3 to support cost-estimating for complex capital projects. You will assist a Senior Estimator, coordinating with project teams to ensure timely, standards-compliant cost deliverables.

Position requires a bachelor’s in a related field and 10 years of experience, with strong math, analytics, and communication skills. Telework is available one day per week, with occasional travel to other MTA locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must deliver on results, organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Strong team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and monitor capital cost estimates for all project phases, including change orders.
• Support development of cost impact analyses and life-cycle costs.
• Review consultant-prepared estimates for compliance with procedures.
• Identify cost variances and coordinate with project teams to address them.
• Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies through value engineering and risk assessment.
