Job summary

Forgen is seeking a Senior Estimator in Denver, CO (remote availability) to lead cost estimation for geotechnical and specialty civil projects. You will develop detailed estimates, coordinate with capture teams, and prepare submittals for bids, applying HCSS, Bid2Win/B2W, and other estimating tools.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 8+ years of heavy-civil estimating experience, with strong communication, project management, and analytical skills, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Eight (8+) years of estimating experience in heavy-civil preferred or similar industries (geotechnical and/or environmental remediation fields).
• Scheduling software experience (Primavera/MS Project) is required.
• Estimating software experience (Bid2Win/B2W, HCSS, or similar) is required.
• Quantity takeoff software experience (Agtek/AutoCAD).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work with an assigned capture team to identify and develop solutions and estimate the resources required for both simple and complex projects.
• Prepare detailed and organized cost estimates using estimating software and assist with submittal documents for proposals.
• Assess and communicate project risks based on proposal documents.
• Coordinate the preparation of quantity takeoffs from project plans with the capture team.
• Understand measurement and payment terms and apply to the development of an estimate.
• Review drawings and specs with capture team to clarify bid requirements.
• Prepare high-level proposal schedules using scheduling software.
• Maintain a cost database with historical cost data.
• Attend pre-bid walks and interface with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Meet deadlines and provide mentorship to estimating staff.
