Job summary

Orbia Fluor & Energy Materials is seeking a senior cost engineer to support planning, estimating, execution, and monitoring of capital construction projects in Louisiana. You will develop and validate construction estimates, perform quantity take-offs, and support bid package development while collaborating with project controls and engineering teams.

Responsibilities include establishing quantity tracking, progress measurement, earned value management, and cost forecasting to improve project

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
15+ years of experience in estimating, quantity surveying, project controls, or construction cost management.
Experience with EPC, EPCM, or owner-side project environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed construction estimates for capital projects.
Develop quantity take-offs from engineering drawings, specifications, and design models.
Support estimate validation and benchmarking using historical project data and industry standards.
Analyze labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect costs.
Assist in developing project budgets, cost breakdown structures (CBS), and control accounts.
Evaluate scope changes and provide cost impact assessments.
Assist in developing construction bid packages, scopes of work, and bid documentation.
