Job summary

TRU Builders is seeking an experienced Estimator & Purchasing Specialist to own the preconstruction estimating process and procurement for residential projects in Arizona. This is a critical leadership role focused on accurate budgets, reliable trade pricing, and a strategic procurement plan that aligns with our production team’s schedule.

The ideal candidate thrives on accuracy, collaborates with trade partners, and builds organized systems that keep projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

5+ years of estimating experience in residential construction.
Strong experience estimating custom homes, large remodels, and additions.
Proven procurement and purchasing experience for residential projects.
Ability to read and interpret complete construction plan sets.
Experience developing detailed budgets and quantity takeoffs.
Strong understanding of residential building methods, materials, and sequencing.
Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate estimates from residential plan sets (architectural, structural, MEP).
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop project budgets.
Solicit and compare bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Build and maintain project budgets in Buildertrend before proposals.
Continuously improve estimating templates and cost databases.
