Job summary

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in Austin, TX is seeking a Lead Estimator to coordinate estimating services on projects of all sizes and types. The Lead Estimator will supervise the estimating team, prepare and review cost estimates, and interface with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.

Minimum five years of commercial estimating experience and proficiency with OnCenter, Cost OS, Building Connected, Bluebeam; BIM software knowledge preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of commercial estimating experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication; collaborative with clients and teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Experience with estimating software such as OnCenter, Cost OS, Building Connected, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of the subcontractor market and bid processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise and review work of assigned department personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Provide technical support and/or prepare estimates as required.
• Participate in the preparation of studies, materials, and methods, recommendations, and relative cost estimates as required.
• Act as an Estimating Team Leader on various projects, coordinating the total estimating effort.
• Lead estimates at all phases/levels as required by project and delivery method.
• Communicate the Estimate to client, design team member, or internal audience.
• Review proposal specifications, drawings; attend pre-proposal meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
• Prepare estimates by quantity survey of the anticipated scope.
• Participate in pre-proposal meetings, bid/estimate strategy and presentation meetings.
• Coordinate with Marketing personnel regarding technical aspects/requirements of assigned estimates.
• Assist Project Team (PM and Supt.) in evaluating submitted proposals during project buyout and contracting phase.
• Prepare for, and participate in, project “Handoff” meetings from Estimating to Operations.
• Train and develop department personnel.
• Perform additional duties per supervisor’s direction.
