Job summary

Watson Civil Construction, Inc. in Florida seeks a Chief Estimator to lead private site development estimating for commercial, industrial, multifamily and mixed-use projects. You will manage the estimating department, review drawings and specs, and drive accurate, competitive cost proposals.

The role requires 10+ years in civil/site development estimating, strong leadership, and proficiency with HCSS, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in private site development estimating.
• Experience with commercial, multifamily, residential, industrial, and mixed-use site development is preferred.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office tools is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating department for private site development projects.
• Identify and pursue bidding opportunities within core private market sectors.
• Review plans, specs, geotechnical reports, surveys and other contract documents.
• Prepare and oversee detailed cost estimates using HCSS or similar software.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, and site infrastructure scopes.
• Evaluate proposals from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop budgets, bids, negotiated proposals, and value engineering suggestions.
• Prepare and review project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar.
