Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Commercial Estimator in Texas to drive preconstruction efforts for diverse ground-up, renovation, and tenant-improvement projects. You will prepare budgets, perform takeoffs, and guide bids with cross-functional teams.

You will build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, leverage Procore/Bluebeam, and present estimates to executives, ensuring competitive outcomes and strong project wins.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating ground-up construction, renovations, retrofits, and tenant improvements.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Project; familiarity with estimating software is highly desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to present to executives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bid proposals for commercial construction projects.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to evaluate scope, risks, logistics, and opportunities.
• Analyse plans, specs, drawings, and site conditions to produce accurate estimates.
• Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, and qualify subcontractor and supplier pricing for competitive bids.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, architects, developers, owners, and field teams throughout preconstruction.
• Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with leadership to ensure alignment with objectives.
• Maintain cost history databases and track estimated vs actual costs to improve performance.

Profile

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience estimating ground-up construction, renovations, retrofits, and tenant improvement projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent industry experience preferred.
• Experience with conceptual estimating, negotiated work, hard-bid procurement, and competitive bidding.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, materials, building systems, and municipal requirements.
• Proven ability to build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, owners, architects, and development partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project; experience with estimating and quantity takeoff software is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presentation capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Restaurant construction experience is advantageous but not required.
