Job summary

PMJOBS.US is seeking a Senior Estimator to support heavy industrial power-generation projects ranging from $5M to $100M+. You will develop conceptual through detailed estimates reflecting field-built practices for combined-cycle and gas-fired facilities.

Responsibilities include takeoffs across mechanical, piping, electrical/E&I, and civil scopes; pricing heavy equipment; developing labor productivity; gathering vendor quotes; and collaborating with operations on constructability and bid

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of heavy industrial estimating experience.
• Power generation estimating experience; combined-cycle preferred.
• Multidisciplinary estimating: mechanical, piping, electrical/E&I.
• Proficiency in Timberline/Sage Estimating, MC2, WinEst or similar.
• Self-perform contractor background preferred; pulp & paper, metals or chemical estimating a plus.

Immediate Need: Senior Estimator for Combined-Cycle and Gas-Fired Power Work

Our client is a large, self-perform heavy industrial contractor building power generation, pulp & paper, metals and chemical facilities. Its power group is growing, and the estimating team needs an experienced estimator to add technical depth. The Senior Estimator builds conceptual through detailed estimates for power projects of $5M to $100M+. You will price the work the way it is actually built in the field.

Work environment

Roughly 70-80% in the office, on a collaborative team that works closely with operations and project leadership.

Not a fit

Renewables-only (solar/wind) estimators are not the target for this search.

• Power generation estimating experience. Combined-cycle is preferred; gas-fired, simple-cycle, cogeneration/CHP or HRSG work also counts.
• Multi-disciplinary estimating ability (mechanical, piping, electrical/E&I).
• Proficiency in Timberline/Sage Estimating, MC2, WinEst or similar.
• Preferred: Full combined-cycle plant estimates (CT, HRSG, steam turbine and BOP); Pulp & paper, metals or chemical estimating; Self-perform contractor background.
