Job summary

PMjobs is recruiting Estimators for on-site roles across the Southeast, including Greenville, Birmingham, and Kingsport. You will prepare accurate estimates for heavy industrial facilities from early budgets through bids, with both early-career and experienced estimators welcome.

As an estimator, you will price labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes; gather vendor quotes; support bid reviews; and maintain cost data from previous projects.

Qualifications

• Estimating heavy industrial construction experience required.
• Discipline experience: mechanical, piping, electrical/E&I or civil/structural.
• Proficient with major estimating platforms (Timberline/Sage, MC2, WinEst, HCSS).

Job Description

Our clients are self-perform heavy industrial contractors building pulp & paper, metals, chemical, power, mining and manufacturing facilities across the Southeast. Every one of them is adding estimators right now.

Position Summary

The Estimator prepares accurate, competitive estimates from early budgets through final bid. Experienced and early-career estimators are both welcome.

What You Will Be Doing

• Preparing quantity takeoffs and estimates from drawings, specs and early engineering packages.
• Pricing labor, equipment, materials and subcontracted scopes.
• Gathering and comparing vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Supporting bid reviews and flagging scope and risk for operations.
• Maintaining cost data from completed projects.

Required Qualifications

• Estimating experience on heavy industrial construction projects.
• Discipline experience in mechanical, piping, electrical/E&I or civil/structural.
• Proficiency in an estimating platform (Timberline/Sage, MC2, WinEst, HCSS or similar).

Preferred Qualifications

• Pulp & paper, metals, chemical or power experience.
• Multi-discipline estimating.
• Self-perform contractor background.

Not a fit: True heavy industrial background required. Commercial, institutional, government or water/wastewater-only experience will not be a fit.
