Job summary

Gage Commercial Construction in Austin, TX, is seeking an Estimator to develop budgets, estimates, and proposals for multifamily renovation and reconstruction projects. You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, evaluate bids, and analyze costs alongside Sales, Project Management, Operations, and Production teams.

This role extends to bid reviews, field visits, and continuous improvement of estimating processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating or field experience in multifamily/commercial projects.
• Bachelors degree in CM/Engineering or equivalent estimating experience.
• Proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating, or similar tools.
• Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings.
• On-site work in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project estimates, budgets, proposals, and change order pricing.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate pricing and identify scope gaps and risks.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and production costs to develop competitive and realistic project budgets.
• Lead estimate and proposal review meetings with Sales, Project Management, Operations, and Production teams.
• Participate in bid reviews and presentations with prospective owners.
• Collaborate with project teams throughout the project lifecycle to evaluate estimate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain and continuously improve Gage’s historical cost database to support estimating accuracy.
• Support project handoffs and participate in post-project cost reviews and lessons learned.
