Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator at our St. Petersburg, FL headquarters to lead multi-discipline project estimates and manage the estimating process.

You will collaborate with Preconstruction, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure competitive, code-compliant pricing aligned with company standards. You will mentor junior estimators, oversee bid documents, and drive value engineering while maintaining high-quality, timely estimates across electrical, mechanical, low voltage,

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in an Estimator-level role with a Corporate Manager recommendation.
• 8+ years of estimating experience in relevant disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of estimating processes, cost control, and budgeting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and estimating software such as ConEST or Accubid.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
• Proven experience managing multiple bids and deadlines with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for large-scale, complex projects across multiple scopes (electrical, mechanical, low voltage, systems, energy, etc.).
• Prepare and deliver detailed estimates, material takeoffs, labor analyses, and cost breakdowns.
• Review design and construction documents to identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to define project requirements and ensure compliant estimates.
• Mentor and support junior estimators in estimating techniques and software.
• Oversee bid documents and contract scope reviews; ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
• Apply knowledge of product pricing, subcontractor management, and market conditions.
• Lead onboarding and foster collaboration and professional growth.
