Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Estimator – Residential to lead comprehensive preconstruction estimates for large multi-family, HUD, OFHA, and senior housing projects.

You will manage the estimating lifecycle, build strong industry relationships, and present accurate cost data directly to clients. Responsibilities include end-to-end estimating, bidding, takeoffs, value engineering, and preconstruction planning, with a focus on delivering reliable budgets and strong

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of estimating experience in large multi-family residential projects.
• HUD and OFHA estimating guidelines experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Estimating: Lead, create, and complete full project estimates. Review, analyze, and correct estimates produced by other team members.
• Bidding & Scoping: Set up qualified subcontractor bid lists, drive participation, analyze bids and scopes.
• Takeoffs & Pricing: Complete detailed On-Screen Takeoffs with current market and unit pricing.
• Value Engineering: Research materials, source alternatives, and develop costed VE ideas.
• Preconstruction Planning: Develop preliminary schedules and outline staffing and General Condition requirements.
• Client & Partner Relations: Prepare presentations and present cost information to clients; build relationships with owners, architects, and subs.
