Job summary

MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck) in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Estimator with extensive construction cost estimating experience for preconstruction projects. The role leads a team of estimators and delivers large, complex estimates for vertical and horizontal construction, including GMP work.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, a P.E./CCM/CCP/CEP is preferred, and is comfortable coordinating with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Significant experience providing cost estimates on vertical and/or horizontal construction.
• Experience in A/E/C industry preferred.
• Experience in general contracting / construction management / CPM scheduling / value engineering / risk management / constructability review / claims analysis / contract administration is desirable.
• Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
• Proficiency in reading plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency with BlueBeam or other quantity take-off software.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for multiple trades.
• Prepare and present final deliverables to clients.
• Quality-check estimates produced by team.
• Analyze contractor/designer estimates, including GMP experience.
• Lead or support estimate reconciliations with clients/contractors.
• Develop or review change order requests.
• Assist with post-construction cost analyses.
• Manage project budgets and invoices.
• Prepare project fee proposals.
• Coordinate resources and workload with other estimating project managers.
• Participate in training and development of junior estimators.
